SVS-Vistek Introduces Wide Angle Camera Optimized for Larger, Faster Conveyor Belts

New fxo901CXGE reduces costs by eliminating need for multiple cameras in barcode recognition

Wider conveyor belts operating at higher speeds are now commonplace in modern logistics. These wider, faster belts require multi-camera scanning for barcode recognition, which raises cost and complexity for the organization.

SVS-Vistek is offering a cost-effective alternative to multi-camera systems with its fxo901CXGE 10GigE color camera featuring the Sony IMX901-AQR wide-aspect global shutter 16.4-megapixel CMOS sensor. Unlike standard cameras, the fxo901CXGE captures targets in a wide field-of-view while maintaining resolutions as high as 8016 x 2048 pixels at 73 frames-per-second. The 4:1 horizontal aspect ratio allows one fxo901CXGE to replace an entire multi-camera system, therefore lowering overall costs, increasing throughput, and simplifying operations by removing the need for image synchronization.

These advanced features make the fxo901CXGE the perfect choice for logistics applications where it improves precision of text recognition in code reading. Additionally, this innovative design makes the fxo901CXGE suitable for general-purpose machine vision jobs that call for distortion-free inspection of flaws and scratches.

Faster Deployments

The fxo901CXGE camera emphasizes faster setup times, minimal errors during installation, and greater reliability. Its 10GigE interface supports 10 Gbit/s and PoE over cable lengths of 100 meters without repeaters or optical extensions, further expanding its versatility and flexible deployment. Compatibility with standard C-mount lenses, which are commonly used in industrial applications, also lowers costs.

Rounding out the feature set is an integrated 4-channel LED strobe controller, binning with frame-rate boost, SafeTrigger, PLC logic functions, and an IP30 industrial-grade metal housing with an operating temperature range of -10° C to 60° C.
