Littelfuse, Inc., an industrial technology manufacturing company empowering a sustainable, connected, and safer world, recently announced it has acquired Embed, Ltd. Founded in 2005, Embed is a proven provider of embedded software and firmware developed for a broad range of applications serving transportation end markets. Embed is headquartered in Coventry, United Kingdom.

“We are excited to welcome the Embed team to Littelfuse,” said  Matt Cole , Littelfuse Senior Vice President, eMobility and Corporate Strategy. “The addition of Embed will help us better serve our customers by expanding our software engineering expertise and technical capabilities. With the increasing complexity of electronification within transportation applications, the inclusion of Embed will help Littelfuse respond quickly to the evolving needs of our customers.”

Littelfuse will share additional details about Embed during the company’s first quarter of fiscal 2022 earnings conference call.

Kollmorgen Performs 5G Tests with Ericsson to Explore Mobile Robot Capabilities in Sweden

 

Kollmorgen is currently performing 5G tests with Ericsson to explore future Mobile Robot capabilities. 5G can enable new levels of AI and Machine Learning, simplify requirements for infrastructure, and increase network stability – which could dramatically increase performance and cost efficiency for Kollmorgen’s partners and end-users. Kollmorgen’s tests with Ericsson were carried out on both a private 5G network as well as a public 4G network by using a Autonomous Mobile Robot, controlled by the Kollmorgen NDC S platform. The Wi-Fi communication link in the Kollmorgen CVC700 onboard vehicle control unit was replaced with a 5G communication link. Test results were promising – The NDC Solutions hardware and software proved to run as stable on 5G as on Wi-Fi. Furthermore, a seamless 5G antenna handover was observed.
