FANUC to Demonstrate CNC and Robotic Solutions for the Woodworking Industry at AWFS Fair

June 28, 2021

FANUC America, a major supplier of CNCs, robotics, and ROBOMACHINEs will demonstrate automated solutions for the construction, furniture, cabinet, and other woodworking industries at the AWFS Fair, July 20-23 in Las Vegas in booth #3075.

Factory Automation Demonstrations

FANUC’s Factory Automation division is introducing an exciting way to see part production. FANUC’s Visual Twin demonstration highlights their end-to-end digitalization solutions for the machine shop. By seamlessly working with various machine tool builders as well as Mastercam and ModuleWorks, FANUC’s Visual Twin is an exact software replica of real CNC machine tools. The Visual Twin will display a virtualized 5-axis machine tool cutting a part, which mirrors the real-world machine’s behavior.

Also from the Factory Automation division, FANUC will be demonstrating the seamless integration and high performance of their CNC and servo systems in a Laguna iQ desktop CNC router. Equipped with a complete FANUC CNC system, the display shows how well the machine, control and drives all work together to bring unbeatable value in reliability and accuracy.

CRX Collaborative Robot Demonstration

FANUC’s CRX cobot is an easy-to-use and versatile solution for a variety of applications, including sanding wood products like furniture, musical instruments, cabinets, containers and more. A FANUC CRX cobot will demonstrate sanding wood guitars. Visitors are welcome to try the easy hand guidance and tablet programming features.

FANUC’s CRX collaborative robot offers the same high level of performance that all FANUC products are known for including the latest technologies and world-renowned reliability. Built-in sensors on each axis allows the CRX cobot to work safely alongside people without the need for expensive guarding.

In addition, interactive programming allows users to teach points using hand guidance or a new tablet interface with drag and drop icons. The CRX cobot supports several of FANUC’s advanced features including iRVision,  and is a perfect fit for any application where collaborative robots can help customers achieve higher efficiencies. Technology & Innovation Session

Attendees should not miss the chance to hear Jim Cooper, general manager at FANUC America present “How to Evaluate Woodworking Robotic Applications” on Tuesday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m. Jim’s discussion will cover advancements in robotic technologies that have made it easier for both small and large woodworking shops to implement automation. Topics will include how to identify a good application, and recommendations on next steps, including how to determine if a collaborative robot may be a good fit.
