When global companies invest in Canada, they invest for the long haul. That’s the case with technology company Siemens, which established its Canadian operations more than a century ago. Today, Siemens Canada has 24 offices and manufacturing facilities across the country, including its headquarters in Oakville, Ontario.
The automation company PILZ and the expert in safe rail infrastructure, Pintsch, are to enter into a long-term development partnership. In future, the companies will work together to develop solutions for the digitization of the rail infrastructure. New, innovative solutions will emerge from the combination of industry-proven control solutions from PILZ and the safety-related rail expertise of Pintsch.
German Technology Day is expected to be even bigger and better this year. Fifteen prominent companies with expertise in automation and advanced manufacturing will host Canada’s fourth series of German Technology Days on October 20, 2022 at Humber College, Toronto, and on November 3, 2022 at Plaza Centre-Ville in Montreal. Canadian Electrical Wholesaler has now learned that learned that discussions are progressing regarding the current strike at Nexans copper rod plant in Montreal. Ratification talks were expected Wednesday September 14. Additional updates have not yet been provided. The plant produces copper wire rod and drawn wire for its own manufacturing and is a core supplier of copper rod to many of Canada’s leading wire and cable manufacturers.

Global mobility technology company, Magna, and San Francisco-based autonomous robotics company, Cartken, recently announced an agreement for Magna to manufacture Cartken’s autonomous delivery robot fleet to meet growing demand for last mile delivery.
