On September 1st, NSK Toyama, Ltd. (NSK Group company), completed the expansion of their plant. The NSK Takaoka Plant expansion produces parts for bearings used in the infrastructure sector, such as wind turbines, railway, construction and mining machinery. With infrastructure-related demand on the rise globally, the plant expansion will enable NSK to fulfill customer needs with state-of-the-art facilities producing even higher quality products.
NSK has received the “Japanese Society of Tribologists (JAST)*1 Technology Award” for new technology improving the durability of bearings by strengthening the rolling elements (steel balls). ABB is investing US $13 million in its Installation Products Division Iberville manufacturing facility in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, to increase production capacity and establish a research & development facility at its global center of excellence for cable tray manufacturing. This will support rising global demand, especially in the data center segment, and is ABB’s second multimillion-dollar investment in a Canadian site in the last 12 months.
