Comau has built an advanced, automated welding solution for Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd (BFDA), a joint venture between Daimler Trucks AG and the Chinese truck manufacturer Foton Motor. In doing so, Comau is helping support BFDA’s first localized heavy-duty truck for the Chinese market, the “Actros”, which is based on the Mercedes-Benz global platform and uses Daimler’s most advanced truck technology.

Canada’s First All-Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Facility Opens in Ontario

 

Recently, the Ontario government is celebrating the opening of General Motors of Canada’s (GM Canada) first full-scale electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in Ingersoll and the first BrightDrop Zevo 600s to be made at the facility. With support from the province, GM Canada has transformed its CAMI manufacturing plant into an all-EV manufacturing facility, the first of its kind in Canada.

Recently, ABB officially opened its state-of-the-art, fully automated, and flexible robotics factory in Kangqiao, Shanghai, China. The 67,000m2 production and research facility represents a $150 million (1.1 billion RMB) investment by ABB and will deploy the company’s digital and automation technologies to manufacture next generation robots – enhancing ABB’s robotics and automation leadership in China.

The Endress+Hauser Customer Experience Centre is Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) – Design Certified, the first of two advanced sustainability targets for the new facility. The 47,000 SF training and administrative centre located in Burlington, ON, is the first privately owned facility to target ZCB and LEED Gold Certification simultaneously, and the first Net Zero Energy, Net Zero Carbon design for the international company, setting a new standard for its international portfolio of buildings.
