Compact Industrial Panel PCs from Phoenix Contact
January 22, 2025
Phoenix Contact is extending its portfolio for HMI and industrial computers. The compact panel PCs in the VL3 PPCS product family bridge the gap between the TP 6000 and WP 6000 HMI devices and the industrial computers in the VL3 box and panel PC series.
The new devices look the same at the front and have the same mechanical dimensions as the HMIs mentioned. This makes installation easier and there is no noticeable difference in terms of operation. The core technology of the new panel PCs is the same as that of the compact box PCs in the VL3 UPC product family. System manufacturers and users benefit from a high degree of scalability between the product families and the reusability of proven technology. With their connectivity and various expansion options, the compact panel PCs are suitable for every application.
The VL3 PPCS provides the flexibility of a panel PC for high-end visualization and IIoT edge tasks. The compact form factor enables installation in small housings with a low installation depth. The industrial design includes passive cooling, solid-state mass storage options, and touch screens that can be operated when wearing gloves. This panel PC extends the VL3 panel PC portfolio to include a total of five screen sizes.
The VL3 PPCS devices with 12″ screen have a configurable motion sensor. This means that the display can be switched off automatically when no operating personnel are present. This saves energy and extends the service life of the screen.
