As part of our commitment to every customer’s success, we aim to make products and services that customers love. Passion is the secret ingredient when UR develops and produces its cobots, from research and development to user experience, production, and customer care.

Universal Robots’ engineering teams are organized to focus on understanding customer problems and developing quality solutions. Its product teams are structured to bring together various specialized skills and responsibilities – including product managers, designers, technical leads, and developers. All of this to create products focused on customer experience – to make products customers love!

Be Our Valentine?

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, we have asked some of our many passionate employees what they love about their work and how they want our customers to feel about our cobots.

Azadeh Sabouri leads customer insight in the User Experience team. Asked what steps she takes to build customer views or experience into what she does, she has a clear answer:

“I constantly gather customer feedback to help form the best future experience for our customers, and I have close collaboration with product teams to make it happen.”

Product teams at Universal Robots run their own rigorous testing to stay customer focused. Jacob Bom Madsen, Lead Product Manager for User Interaction commented:

“We test our prototypes with real customers, to ensure that the product will really be something they love and enjoy using. Whether it’s a small 10-people machine shop owner, or a large manufacturing enterprise engineer, it’s about making our customers successful!”

The Danish-based production team firmly supports the company’s commitment to customer success. Production manager Klaus Back Pedersen is responsible for delivering quality products on time and providing a superior customer experience motivates him daily. He explained that he loves working with great people to build cobots and achieve great results for customers.

The commitment to creating products and services that customers love continues post-deployment. Application Engineering Leader Karol Habryka helps customers in Poland take their first steps into automation, something he claims is hugely rewarding:

“I love to spend time with customers taking their first steps into automation, guiding them to show potential applications they can automate. There is no better prize than knowing you are moving in a good direction”.

Lead Product Manager for Customer Care, Anders Lykke-Skov, has made it his goal to make customers feel that using cobots is the best part of coming to work every day. What he loves most about his job is the company’s ambition and its investment in customers’ success.

“I love to listen to what the customer has to say. Ask them, talk to them and understand them,” he explains.

The relationship between an operator and a cobot in industry can be a true “love story”. When investing in a new ’cobot-colleague’ a company will not only grow their business and improve productivity, it will also create a better work environment for its employees.

The Vice-President for Product and Solutions Management, Fabio Montagna, knows the recipe for creating a true love story in the long run:

“Robots used in industry have traditionally been designed around applications, with a view to increasing productivity through technical excellence, but there is no reason at all that they shouldn’t also be a joy to use. Industry 5.0 is expected to put the human back at center stage and that is exactly what we do. Our cobots are built to work alongside humans, to augment their abilities, to create a human and machine couple with amazing chemistry that achieves results much bigger than the sum of its parts”.

Universal Robots is on a mission to empower change in the way work is done and this too has been evident in talking to UR colleagues this Valentine’s Day.

Anja Saabye is the Head of User Experience and Product Design but is passionate about the company’s wider purpose:

“I love that by doing my very best every day, I can be part of changing the world, so future generations do not have to be worn out due to hard and repetitive work.”

Our take home from these conversations? We’re a company that wants to take care of you, and not just on Valentine’s Day. We’ll be with you every day, supporting your work and making you feel excited, empowered and fulfilled – just like a good partner should.
